I remember Simon from the days when he was one of our scouts. He was not the most organised of scouts then and was often in the thick of anything mainly mischief. Simon always did like the outdoor stuff though and had a fascination with sharp objects and fires. When he offered to help out with the scouts I had not seen him for a while and wondered what had become of him since those days. I was stunned to find that he has grown up in many ways and become a focussed individual keen on skiing and travel.
At our Autumn camp we reaquainted Simon with Kayaking and rafting. Surprise surprise he caught the bug and managed to bag a new paddle for Christmas. In the spirit of are we there yet, Simon can't wait to get his water wings and is pestering for us to hit the white water.
Simon has joined Rob Burdon to lead the new explorer section. His action man spirit will help enormously. We expect him to do well.
