Focus on Sharon Booth

"Quietly observing us the idiots" Tony Thompson

Tony on Sharon:
When the twins joined us along came Sharon to help out with fundraising. There was a story there but we did not get it out of her immediately.

Sharon is the longest serving member of the group as she was actually part of the ventures when they operated in Ticehurst. She is still one of our youngest supporters - how did she do that?

When the group started growing again Sharon was always there helping on the exec and suporting the group by always turning up to fundraisers and making sure that the girls were much smarter than anyone else. She put us all to shame.

When I had the opportunity I thought that she would be the ideal candidate to organise our badges. This we had been very poor at. What a surprise we now get badges to order and on time!

In 2008 our Kings of the Wild Frontier district camp fell short in the leaders department so Sharon once more rolled up her sleeves and waded in; although she kept claiming that she knew nothing. That nothing made a difference to the catering to be sure.

Summer camp stalled for a blink until she offered to join us and the scouts on a magic adventure to the Lake district. Sharon has stayed on and has made the recent running of the group much better than ever

Where next who knows. I think she has so much to offer but has understated talents.

Skills and Attributes

Common sense - nuff said!
We expect Sharon to do the following in 2009 (I wonder if she will read this?)
Child protection
First aid
Nights away permit
