Ashdown District is a great success story for the youth of East Sussex. Our village and town groups of beavers, cubs, scouts, and explorers have a lot to be proud of. Ashdown is thriving, spanning Uckfield, Buxted, Crowborough, Hartfield, Groombridge, Rotherfield, Mayfield, Wadhurst and Ticehurst.
The area has great resources too with the Ashdown Forest, Sports centres scattered across the district, Water activities at Bewl Bridge, climbing centres and even sub aqua. Not forgetting Broadstone Warren Campsite on the west border.
 |
We have a great area to hike over and perhaps this is why the Overland trophy is often won by Ashdown district scouts and explorers. |
In the past year district trips have been organised to welsh mountain areas and the explorer groups have travelled overseas.
| Ashdown regularly organises very impressive district activities where our young people get to realise that they are part of a much bigger organisation than the hut where they attend weekly meetings |
 |
A very competant and keen district team and group leaders are responsible for orgainising first class events.
| The highly successful mountain bike challenge is organised by our leadership and it is rare that activities across the county from astronomy and the world online internet Jamboree to |
 |
| raft racing are not supported by Ashdown district groups. The District St.Georges Day and remembrance day parades and Christmas carol concerts show that our members also have a sense of duty as well as FUN. |
