Gilwell reunion 2010
by tony thompson - Tuesday, September 7 2010, 05:42 PM
Every year leaders from across the world get together at the home of scouting to get new ideas, some training but most of all to meet each other. Now in its 84th year the event was hosted by UK chief scout Wayne Bulpitt. Leaders from Ticehurst represented the group and Tony was able to become a qualified safeguarding trainer for CEOP an organisation dedicated to banishing internet child abuse. ceop aims to teach children nationwide how to stay safe with new technologies such as mobile phones, wii, iphones and computers. Information on CEOP can be found at http://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/

Beavers and cubs move to a new home
by tony thompson - Tuesday, September 7 2010, 05:37 PM

As we raise funds and carry out essential repairs at the scout hut in Pickforde Lane the beavers and cubs are meeting at the village hall on Monday evenings back to back. Beavers from 5:00pm to 6:00pm and Cubs from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. They will return to the hut bright and shiny once more very soon.

If you have time to help out with the beavers Sarah desperately needs a couple of assistant leaders. Please contact Tony gsl@ticehurstscouts.co.uk if you can help.

Gilwell 24
by tony thompson - Tuesday, July 20 2010, 01:06 PM

We went to this amazing event and came back worn out. Two of our scouts managed to fly the trapeze and others managed to brush board. A brilliant weekend at the home of UK scouting. Nobody really slept from Friday to Sunday. We polished the weekend off with a visit to London.

More information for Gillwell 24, Gillwell Park Essex.

If you like what we do then join us. We will try to accommodate you. Scouting has millions of members worldwide and an activity list longer than your arm - what is holding you back?
Scouting is the largest VOLUNTARY youth group in the world. Why not get involved by joining our thriving group of beavers (6-8), cubs(8-10 1/2), scouts(10 1/2-14) or explorers (14-18).

Scouting is not just for kids. If you are an adult with some time or skills help us develop our young people. Adults and Leaders are possibly the most important volunteers, giving up their time for free. As adults we get to try out many outward bound activities ourselves. For more information click here

scouting engages adults with young people

If you live in Flimwell, Ticehurst, Stonegate or on the Kent and Sussex border then contact us. We provide a wide range of activities for young people from 6 to 18 at our group headquarters in Pickforde Lane Ticehurst.
